BEN NYE Powder and Final Seal Review
I am finally out with another makeup review. This time, it’s gonna be one of my greatest investments. LOL. Yes, imported products that are worth ordering online (and worth my patience) is also what I consider as an investment. At the same time, with their performance I am also able to set those expectations of the product not only to myself but to my future clients as well. I am no professional. I am just a normal makeup enthusiast that is still open to learning and discovering products that are definitely worth to invest at. Yes, I accept bookings as a freelance makeup artist. My rates are cool as a starter, trust me! Just contact me first through e-mail (which is located at the right side of this site) :)
Okay, let’s now go straight to the review. Ben Nye definitely go my heart. These three products are amazing. This review is going to consist of Ben Nye’s famous Luxury Powder called the Banana Visage and one of their best sellers, Neutral Set powder. Of course, my ever favorite Matte Final Sealer will never be forgotten.
BEN NYE Banana Visage powder [42 gms]
This powder is the bomb in giving me that flawless face. It definitely mattifies the face. I’m sure not everyone is a fan of matte but you can always find ways to make your skin dewy after makeup application (think Urban Decay’s Dew Me facial spray). Since I am a fan of matte, I just can’t go without this. Take note, I don’t wear makeup every day. I know for the fact that theatrical makeup have way different ingredients than that of a mineral makeup. But hey, I got no breakouts from using this for straight 3 days. What I notice also, this powder is really different from the other powders I had before. This is definitely fine-milled and I find it very effective to give me that flawless face if I use a velour puff (by pressing the powder puff deep to the skin). I guess the downside is only the packaging. It needs improvement. Maybe a non-twist cap will be helpful plus a more wide cap and a deep powder tub with holes so as we can dip in our brush if we are in a hurry. If that makes sense? :D Overall, I’d rate this powder 4.5/5. THIS IS MY HG POWDER.
BEN NYE Neutral Set powder [42 gms]
This powder is more than okay. I mean, it still gives me that flawless face but I always find myself grabbing the Banana powder more often than this. I do trust this powder to set in my concealer and put on a dab under my eyes before I start applying eye makeup. It lives up to its word: colorless. I am not sure though as to how this will perform on dry skin and women of color. My skin is not too far nor too dark. I am a sand beige on Revlon Colorstay’s Oily/Combination liquid foundation. Rate? Same with banana visage powder! :)
Take a look at how these powders blend well to the skin. Banana Visage on the left. Neutral Set on the right.
BEN NYE Matte Final Sealer [29 ml]
OMG! I can’t say anything bad about this thing. This is my HG Makeup Sealer. The smell of mouthwash might not be so cool to others but really, I find it comforting (maybe because I am just a fan of too minty stuff?). It does make the face really matte. I apply this thing by spraying one spritz to my face and then another one unto the brush and pressing it to my face. I have read reviews about this one on makeupalley that Ben Nye final sealer is way awesome than the Skindinavia. I had always wanted the Skindinavia Bridal spray but the price isn’t for me. So I decided to read and do some research and found out about this one on the said site. I couldn’t believe about the hype at first. But since this product has great reviews, I was open to ordering this one. I tried and tested the product. Since then, I am in love.
Ben Nye Final seal definitely mattifies the face and at the same time, affects the longevity of your makeup. I tried going out for 6 hours and I can say that the makeup did stay but a bit of the oils started to came out (what do you expect on a humid weather?). Overall, I’d rate this 4.8/5. Close to perfect! I wish it could combat oils at least 8 hours :D
Here’s a pic of me wearing 3 products. FLAT MATTE. I didn’t wear any blush or contour powder. Forgive thy happy face :D
